Mission statement.

Cantrap Press is a small, independent publisher of metamorphic and esoteric fiction and non-fiction.

What is metamorphic fiction? Metamorphic fiction is a form of storytelling that in its methodology pulls from both the practicability of esoteric ritual and postmodernism’s intentional dismantling of structure to provide a working framework for self-elevation.

We believe in the power of storytelling to transfigure, transmute, transliterate and transcend. The construction and deconstruction of language is the construction and deconstruction of our selves. Through story, we can build and rebuild everything that we are and everything that we can ever be.

A work of metamorphic fiction is one that transgresses boundaries of genre, narrative, perspective, and esoterica. It is a chrysalis, whose ultimate goal is to transform.

Becca De La Rosa and Maybell Marten are married co-creatrixes of the acclaimed podcast Mabel, an audio drama exploring themes of love, tyranny, and fiction itself. They are also authors of their own magical and religious practice, the Flower-Starred Path, after a lifetime of solitary devotion to study drawn from their Irish and indigenous Mexican backgrounds.
